Baracoa, the oldest city of Cuba, was founded on August 15, 1511. It was named as “Villa de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción de Baracoa”. It is located to the north of the Cuban eastern province of Guantanamo, 997.4 kilometers (619,7 miles) away from Havana.
